Features

Everything below is part of the standard system. What changes from one customer to the next is the set-up.

Quote and bind

  • Rating that matches your pricing, not a template's.

Rate tables, loadings, discounts and calculated factors are set up per product. Answers on the proposal form feed straight into the price.

  • Referrals that stop in the right place.

Set the points where a risk has to go to an underwriter. Everything else quotes without waiting for someone to look at it.

  • Optional cover priced at the point of quote.

Add-ons such as legal expenses, terrorism and personal accident are offered and priced automatically.

  • Several insurers, one system.

Each insurer keeps its own rates, excesses and referral rules, and the system knows which applies to which risk.

Documents and correspondence

  • Your documents, generated from the record.

Schedules, certificates, letters and quotes are built from your own Word templates, with the details merged in from the risk.

  • Every email kept against the risk.

Emails sent from MPACS are logged with the record, so you can see what went to whom and when.

Changes and renewals

  • Mid-term adjustments without starting again.

Change a policy part-way through and MPACS works out the money, keeping the adjustment linked to the original so the history reads in order.

  • Renewals worked in batches.

Pick the renewals due, run them together, and chase what's outstanding.

  • Automations for the routine steps.

Set rules that act when a field on a risk changes, so the follow-up happens without someone remembering to do it.

Claims

  • Claims handled against the policy.

From first notification to settlement, the claim sits with the policy it belongs to, with payments and notes in the same place.

Insurer reporting and accounts

  • Bordereaux for each insurer.

Premium and claims bordereaux are produced per insurer, in the format each one asks for.

  • Statements and accounts.

Agent statements come straight out of MPACS. Finance postings can feed Sage 50 automatically.

  • Reports built for you.

We build the reports you need and your team runs them whenever they like. Need a new one or a change? Tell us and we'll add it.

Audit and control

  • Who changed what, and when.

Every change to a record is logged down to the individual field, with the old value and the new one. You can search the trail by record or by field.

  • An events log on every risk.

Each save leaves a note on the risk, so anyone picking up a case can see what has happened without asking around.

  • No two people overwriting each other.

If someone is already working on a record, MPACS tells you before you start.

  • Signed declarations online.

Online application forms capture the applicant's signed declaration as part of the submission.

Out on site and with your customers

  • SmartSurv for surveyors and inspectors.

A mobile app for iPhone, Android and Windows. Surveyors fill in forms, take photos and record findings on site, and it keeps working without a signal. The report goes back to MPACS when they reconnect.

  • MPORT, a portal for your brokers.

MPORT is a broker portal where brokers fill in an application, see a price where the rules allow it, and submit business that lands directly in MPACS. Anything outside your rules goes to an underwriter as a referral rather than being quoted automatically.

Hosting and support

  • Hosted for you in the UK.

MPACS runs in a UK data centre in Maidenhead. We look after the servers, the backups and the updates.

  • Monthly releases, tested by our own testers.

Each release comes with plain English notes saying what's changed.

  • Support from the people who build it.

9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, through our online help centre. The team answering is the team that develops the system.
